Why Catherine Trusts Dermasport

“Sun protection isn't vanity. For an athlete, healthy skin is part of performance.”

Before the swim, Catherine sat down with Dermasport co-founder and dermatologist Dr. Christopher Schmidt to to develop a sunscreen and skincare regimen to keep her skin protected through the longest days on the water and help her recover at night.

Here's what Dr. Schmidt recommended:

Step 1: Protect Apply SPF 50 Facial Sunscreen Spray everyday before hopping in the water. Use the Mineral Body SPF 30 Sunscreen Spray to cover her hands and back of the neck.

Step 2: Cleanse Use the Gentle Facial Cleanser to remove sunscreen and saltwater after each swim.

Step 3: Moisturize Rehydrate and soothe the skin with our Facial Moisturizer infused with aloe vera.

Step 4: Renew Massage the Eye Cream for 45-60 seconds to stimulate circulation and reduce goggle marks.

Swim for a Cause

Swim California is more than a record attempt. Through her 501(c)(3) non-profit, Sea Dreamers, Catherine is raising awareness and funds for marine conservation and inspiring people to spend time in the ocean and protect it. Donations support the boats, kayakers, crew, and safety that make the swim possible.
